REVERSE PULSE BAGHOUSE

What it’s for:

A baghouse, bag filter or fabric filter is an air pollution control device that removes particles out of air or gas from commercial and industrial processes. A reverse-pulse baghouse consists of a metal cage with bags inside it. Air is drawn through the side of the unit, and dust sticks to the outside of the bag, while the clean air goes through. Baghouses have a wide range of applications from mining dust control to grain processing.

How it works:

Dirty air is drawn through the unit by way of a fan. The dirty contaminants are collected on the outside of the bag (tubular filter bags) and the ‘cleaned’ air goes through the bag and out the top of the unit. A jet of compressed air is intermittently blasted down the inside of these bags to knock off the dirt, which is collected in a hopper at the bottom. Thus the unit is self cleaning.
